E-Gift Cards

These Terms and Conditions govern the use and operation of your HOYTS E-Gift Card.

HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be sold without the prior written consent of HOYTS Corporation Pty Ltd. HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS E-Gift Cards’.

1. Agreeing to the Terms and Conditions

1.1 You agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions by purchasing, activating, using or attempting to use your HOYTS E-Gift Card or making any transactional query.

1.2 By using a HOYTS E-Gift Card, you warrant to us that you will comply with these Terms and Conditions and all applicable laws and that your HOYTS E-Gift Card will not be used in any manner which is unlawful, misleading, deceptive or unfair.

1.3 If you are giving a HOYTS E-Gift Card to another person you must ensure that the recipient of the HOYTS E-Gift Card is aware of the Terms and Conditions that apply to the HOYTS E-Gift Card and the relevant expiry date.

1.4 HOYTS Corporation Pty Ltd reserves the right to amend all or part of these Terms and Conditions at any time.

2. Purchasing a HOYTS E-Gift Card

2.1 HOYTS E-Gift Cards can be purchased from any HOYTS cinema in New Zealand or online from HOYTS Giftshop at HOYTS.CO.NZ.

2.2 HOYTS E-Gift Cards purchased from a HOYTS cinema in New Zealand can be individually loaded with any value between $20 and $500.

2.3 HOYTS E-Gift Cards may also be purchased from any third party outlet approved by HOYTS, as amended from time to time.

2.4 HOYTS E-Gift Cards purchased from any third party outlet approved by HOYTS can be individually loaded with $30, $50 or $100.

2.5 The value which can be loaded on to each HOYTS E-Gift Card may change from time to time.

2.6 Once a HOYTS E-Gift Card has been purchased, it cannot be refunded.

3. Redeeming a HOYTS E-Gift Card

3.1 HOYTS E-Gift Cards can be redeemed at any HOYTS cinema in New Zealand at the Box Office or Candy Bar or online at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app, for tickets to any available movie session at any time as well as for items at the Candy Bar. Any value redeemed will be deducted from the available balance. HOYTS cinema locations may change from time to time, please refer to HOYTS.CO.NZ for a full list of HOYTS cinema locations.

3.2 HOYTS E-Gift Cards can be redeemed at any Berkeley cinema located in New Zealand. Berkeley cinema locations may change from time to time, please refer to hoyts.co.nz for a full list of gift card redemption locations.

3.3 If your purchase/s exceeds the available balance on your HOYTS E-Gift Card, you must pay the excess using another method of payment.

3.4 HOYTS E-Gift Cards are valid for 12 months from the date of purchase. Our record of your expiry date is final. Once your HOYTS E-Gift Card has expired the HOYTS E-Gift Card cannot be re-activated and any unspent value cannot be used or redeemed by you.

3.5 Once a HOYTS E-Gift Card has been purchased and loaded with value or when the HOYTS E-Gift Card has reached a $0 balance, no further value can be added to it.

3.6 HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for cash. No cash advances will be made at any time.

3.7 HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for prepaid movie vouchers or used to purchase a HOYTS E-Gift Cards.

3.8 You do not need to use the entire available balance in one transaction. No change will be given, however, the remaining available balance may be applied to future purchases until the HOYTS E-Gift Card expires or the balance reaches $0.

3.9 Your PIN will be required to be entered on any redemption transaction.

4. Transaction Information

4.1 You can check the expiry date, available balance and transaction history of your HOYTS E-Gift Card by visiting hoyts.co.nz.

4.2 To find out information on your HOYTS E-Gift Card using the link above, you will be required to enter your HOYTS E-Gift Card number and PIN.

4.3 Your HOYTS E-Gift Card number and PIN are located on the back of your HOYTS E-Gift Card.

5. Lost or Stolen HOYTS E-Gift Cards

5.1 You should treat your HOYTS E-Gift Card like cash.

5.2 HOYTS E-Gift Cards cannot be replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged.

5.3 We reserve the right to place a stop on your HOYTS E-Gift Card if:

(a) you report that your HOYTS E-Gift Card has been lost, stolen or damaged; or

(b) we believe (or reasonably suspect) that you have used (or will use) your HOYTS E-Gift Card contrary to these Terms and Conditions.

5.4 At our absolute discretion, we may change our policies and procedures on lost, stolen or damaged HOYTS E-Gift Cards. If we decide to do this, we will publish details on our website.

6 Errors and Complaints

6.16. If you wish to dispute an amount deducted from your HOYTS E-Gift Card, you must contact our Head Office or visit the Box Office at any HOYTS cinema in New Zealand. If an amount is not disputed within ninety (90) days after the transaction date, we may (at our sole discretion) refuse to provide you with a refund.

Gift Cards

HOYTS LUX E-Voucher

HOYTS LUX E-Voucher Terms and Conditions – these apply to all physically and electronically (e-vouchers) issued HOYTS LUX Gift Vouchers.

Specific terms and conditions may also apply to your voucher in addition to these Standard Terms and Conditions – be sure to check the Specific Terms and Conditions below these Standard Terms and Conditions.

This voucher must be exchanged at the HOYTS LUX reception or the Box Office or redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ for your ticket and does not guarantee a seat to the session of your choice. We recommend that you book your tickets in advance. A booking fee may apply. Persons under the age of 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian at all times within the HOYTS LUX areas.

This voucher is redeemable for one (1) HOYTS LUX admission ticket at HOYTS Cinemas in New Zealand:

for any HOYTS LUX session
for any 3D HOYTS LUX or D-BOX session with an upgrade fee, which will be applied at time of redemption
and is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

If redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ both the E-Voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

Once a HOYTS E-Voucher has been purchased, it cannot be refunded. HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS E-Voucher’.

This voucher cannot be:

redeemed for special or group events sessions
redeemed at affiliated cinemas in New Zealand (see website for more details)
used to purchase 3D glasses. 3D glasses must be purchased separately at an additional cost
used in conjunction with any other offers
replaced or refunded if lost, stolen or damaged
used to purchase any pre-paid movie vouchers, gift cards or HOYTS Rewards memberships
exchanged for cash and change will not be given irrespective of cinema pricing
used and/or sold by a person or company as an incentive for a third party to purchase other goods or services or be incorporated into an offer by that person or company for a third party to purchase other goods or services without the prior written consent of The HOYTS Corporation Pty Limited.

HOYTS Xtremescreen E-Voucher Terms and Conditions - these apply to all HOYTS Xtremescreen E-Vouchers issued electronically.

Each voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

Each voucher is redeemable for one (1) general admission ticket for one (1) adult:

for any any 3D/Xtremescreen session at HOYTS Cinemas in New Zealand
for any D-BOX movie session with an upgrade fee, which will be applied at time of redemption
and is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

If redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app both the E-Voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

for any 3D/Xtremescreen or D-BOX movie session with an upgrade fee, which will be applied at time of redemption
and is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

If redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app both the E-Voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

and is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

Senior E-Voucher Terms and Conditions - these apply to all Senior Vouchers issued electronically.

Each E-Voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

Each E-Voucher is redeemable for one (1) general admission ticket for one (1) adult (60 years & over with a valid New Zealandn Seniors Card):

for any general admission session at HOYTS Cinemas in New Zealand
for any 3D/Xtremescreen or D-BOX movie session with an upgrade fee, which will be applied at time of redemption
and is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

If redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app both the E-Voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

Student E-Voucher Terms and Conditions - these apply to all Student Vouchers issued electronically.

Each voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

Each voucher is redeemable for one (1) general admission ticket for one (1) student (must present a valid student ID in cinema):

for any general admission session at HOYTS Cinemas in New Zealand
for any 3D/Xtremescreen or D-BOX movie session with an upgrade fee, which will be applied at time of redemption
and is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

If redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app both the E-Voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

Ultimate Movie Package E-Voucher Terms and Conditions - these apply to all Ultimate Movie Package E-Vouchers issued electronically.

Each voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

Each ticket voucher is redeemable for one (1) general admission ticket for one (1) adult:

for any general admission session at HOYTS Cinemas in New Zealand
for any 3D/Xtremescreen or D-BOX movie session with an upgrade fee, which will be applied at time of redemption
and is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

Each candy bar voucher is redeemable at the Candy Bar only for:

One (1) large popcorn
Two (2) small post-mix drinks including Frozone
Two (2) Ice Creams or Choc Tops (all ice cream types and flavours vary by site)

Book contains 10 Adult E-Vouchers. Each voucher is redeemable for one (1) general admission ticket for one (1) adult:

for any general admission session at HOYTS Cinemas in New Zealand
for any 3D/Xtremescreen or D-BOX movie session with an upgrade fee, which will be applied at time of redemption
and is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

These Terms & Conditions apply to all HOYTS LUX Movie Package E-Vouchers issued electronically.

Specific Terms & Conditions apply to each package depending on its inclusions. Please review both the Standard Terms & Conditions and the Specific Package Inclusions listed below.

Standard Terms & Conditions

1. Ticket Redemption

Each Ticket E-Voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office, Candy Bar, or redeemed online at hoyts.co.nz or via the HOYTS App.

Each ticket voucher is valid for:

One (1) HOYTS LUX admission ticket at HOYTS Cinemas in New Zealand
Any HOYTS LUX session
Any 3D HOYTS LUX or D-BOX session (upgrade fees apply at time of redemption)

When redeeming online at hoyts.co.nz or the HOYTS App:

Both the E-Voucher number and PIN must be entered
Booking fees apply

Tickets are valid until the expiry date shown and cannot be replaced, exchanged, or extended. HOYTS’ record of the expiry date is final.

2. Food & Beverage Redemption

Food & Beverage E-Vouchers are redeemable only at the HOYTS LUX Bar.

Food & beverage components may include drinks, starters, mains, grazing boards, and/or desserts depending on the package purchased.

All drinks refer to house wine or house beer only.

3. General Conditions

HOYTS E-Vouchers:

Are non-refundable once purchased
Must not be referenced in any material without written approval from HOYTS

Each E-Voucher cannot be:

Used to purchase 3D glasses (sold separately)

Family E-Voucher

HOYTS Family E-Voucher Terms and Conditions - these apply to all HOYTS Family E-Vouchers issued electronically.

Each voucher must be exchanged at the Box Office or Candy Bar or redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app for your ticket.

Each voucher is redeemable for two (4) general admission ticket for two (2) adults and (2) children, OR one (1) adult and three (3) children:

for any general admission session at HOYTS Cinemas in New Zealand
for any 3D/Xtremescreen or D-BOX movie session with an upgrade fee, which will be applied at time of redemption
and is valid until the expiry date indicated and cannot be exchanged, extended or replaced after this date. Our record of your expiry date is final.

If redeemed at HOYTS.CO.NZ or the HOYTS app both the E-Voucher number and PIN are required to be entered. Booking fees will apply.

Once a HOYTS E-Voucher has been purchased, it cannot be refunded. HOYTS must approve in writing any material which includes reference to ‘HOYTS’ or ‘HOYTS E-Voucher’.

Each voucher cannot be:
